No (Crafting) Surprises

So earlier in February, my nephew called me and asked if I would make him a cross-stitch. I sounded cool and collected (“Oh, sure, no big deal”), but inside I was like this:

So, he sent me the file of what he wanted to have stitched. Now I’ll admit, I don’t listen to Radiohead, (I swear I was born in the wrong decade when it comes to music.) but I knew it was an easy enough pattern and off I went.

I decided to go make the entire pattern with half stitches that way I could easily take it with me on the road to finish ALL THE X’s. Five days and a handful of hours later, and this sucker was done!

Wanna make your own? All you need is some 14-count aida cloth (the pattern is 5″ x 5″) and one skein of black thread. (It literally took one entire skein for this — I used three strands so that the white wouldn’t peek through.) And of course, the pattern!

If you tackle this, I’d love to see it! And as always, happy crafting! ❤
