So, if you guys follow me on Twitter and/or Instagram, you saw me working on this emblem this past week. (Don’t worry, from now on, I don’t plan to post any sneak peeks on the upcoming emblems — except, maybe, a close up because we know I can’t resist those, LOL)
You’ll need four colors for this emblem: dark grey, light grey, dark pink, and light pink. The DMC colors I used were 645, 648, 815, and 335.
And of course, you’ll need the chart
Assuming you are working on 14 count aida cloth, when you’re finished, you’ll have a 2″ emblem, ready to show off to the masses. Remember to use the #Destiny2CAL, if you would like.
Now I’m off to work on next week’s emblem. If you have any questions, just drop me a line. (I will probably respond the most quickly on Twitter (@craftinggeek) — TweetDeck, it works wonders, I tell you.)
Jess 😀 😀
I’ll admit I imagined Stephen Amell saying that, oh, a million or so times while I was working on this sucker.
(It’s the little things, ok?)
So, actually this cross-stitch came to be because A.) Babe loves the show and B.) after this from Xbox, how could I not tackle (another) Arrow cross-stitch?
So when I set off on this Arrowtastic journey, I thought it was going to take me 7-10 days to finish. Easy as pie, I thought. It might be close to 10k squares, but really, how long could that take?
Oh foolish Jess….when will I be able to count? Or figure out a realistic time frame? (The answer is, of course, never.)
The project itself was easy. No major miscounts, no weeping into my pillow at night. So despite the fact it took three times as long as I had anticipated, it was a fun project to do. Although with all the grey, it wasn’t exactly the most vibrant color scheme ever, LOL
But, I’m thrilled to pieces with how it turned out. And now it’s onto a little project for my nephew then back to either Rapunzel, Steve, or the Light World. (I love having to make “difficult” decisions like this, LOL)
It started with the promise of Flarrow. It ended, well, with one half of the crossover magic.
I was pretty set on making the Flarrow chart (in two days!) but as I started working on it, I realized something…I like the Flash bolt of awesomeness so much and I’m scared that the arrowhead would have taken away from that.
(Again, sorry Oliver.)
But, if any of you awesome folks want to tackle the whole project, please, do it. And show me that it was a mistake to leave out the -rrow part of the Flarrow magic.
(Sorry again Oliver.)
What you’ll need:
5″ hoop (I used a 4″ hoop and you can see how close to the edge I got)
14 count aida cloth
The color key (If you’re only making the Bolt, you’ll need DMC colors 3371, 975, 300, 834, 3829, and 3820)
The chart! (If you’re only doing the Bolt, just ignore all of the background arrow and large green circle.)
This took me about 4-5 hours. (I think. I so lose track of time, LOL) So, if you do tackle the entire project, you’re probably looking at 6-8 hours.
